More than twenty years ago SouthLand Properties bought our first condo at Riverside Condominiums, which is an eight building development on Faris Circle, ideally situated between Augusta Road to the west and South Pleasantburg to the east. We were attracted to the great location, and the fact that the area and smaller size were ideal for young single professionals and young couples.
Since then we have purchased three more units at Riverside. The condos have simple, convenient floor plans — typically two bedrooms and one bath on the second floor, with dining and living space on the ground floor. Over the years the location has become even more attractive, and we have steadily updated our units — but kept them within a reasonable price range. We have always wanted to secure properties that are good for a spectrum of people at different life stages and so we have a broad range of types of properties available.
39 Faris Circle was purchased in 2013 and is about mid way along the row of condos, far enough from Faris Road and close enough to the very attractive residential neighborhood at the far end. We also loved and kept the black and white ceramic tile kitchen counters! Since our purchase we have added new plank flooring in the downstairs. In our latest round of updates for this unit, we are tweaking the bathroom with a few updates, and adding new carpet on the stairs and in the upstairs bedroom. Each of the buildings has a lovely grassy back yard area that borders a tributary of the Reedy River.
Other location pluses — it’s one block from the Prisma Health Swamp Rabbit Trail, an access point for miles of cycling and running opportunities, and less than a mile from the Caine Halter Family YMCA. The Prisma Health Life Center is two miles away.
On the Pleasantburg side are numerous restaurant options; Pita House (Middle Eastern), Frodo’s Pizza “The Original”, and Grateful Brew (a coffee shop) are around a mile away. Travel two miles to the India Palace and Red Bowl (Asian) restaurants. Greenville Technical College, The Fresh Market (a gourmet supermarket), and Publix Super Market at McAlister Square anchor that end of South Pleasantburg.
On the Augusta Road side you’ll find an array of small niche shops that cater to a variety of needs, not to mention a Southern-style restaurant, Chicken Salad Chick, The Bakery off Augusta, The Blockhouse Restaurant, Davani’s, and Augusta Grill — all within about a mile from #15 Riverside.
