We have always wanted to provide properties that are good for a spectrum of people at different life stages, so we have a broad range of types of properties available. In the late 1990s we decided to build a small community of duplexes that allowed a lower price point than a downtown Greenville property — and that also featured a location south of Greenville that could allow people to quickly access I-85 and nearby cities, as well as the ICAR automotive campus where some of our tenants have worked over the years. If you travel for work, need a quick access point to I-85, or want to be closer to Mauldin and Simpsonville (we highly recommend Gretchen’s Abs Cakes, Cafe, and Supplies for lunch and baked goods if you’re visiting Mauldin), this is a good location.

Huntsfield Greene is a community of five duplexes in a residential neighborhood of other duplexes, located just off Mauldin Road. Just two turns and less than 1.5 miles away is easy access to I-85, and an efficient drive to Spartanburg or Anderson. The CU-ICAR campus is just 2.5 miles away and the South Carolina Technology and Aviation Center (formerly the Donaldson Center Airport) an easy drive of around five miles with limited traffic.

Other than the location’s efficient access to the main interstate, Huntsfield Greene is just a little over a mile from one of the natural treasures of Greenville County — Lake Conestee Nature Preserve, a 400 acre preserve featuring 12 miles of natural and paved trails and incredible views and nature observation over marshland, river, and forest. The southern end of the Prisma Health Swamp Rabbit Trail runs through the preserve and from that trail you can access dozens of cycling and walking miles. The Wenwood Soccer Complex, with five lighted full-sized fields, is just across the road from the preserve.

At 1252 square feet, 26D is one of our larger units at Huntsfield, a two bedroom (each with double closets), two bathroom unit with living room and dining room. One of those bedrooms and bathrooms is on the upstairs rear side of the duplex which allows the footprint to be smaller while increasing the square footage of the apartment in comparison to the flats. This plan also allows for more privacy for those in both downstairs and upstairs bedrooms, and resulted in a larger upstairs bathroom and ample storage by providing a walk-in attic on the second floor. There is additional storage under the staircase.

The unit is carpeted throughout except that the kitchen and bath are ceramic-tiled. The kitchen has all new stainless appliances, and the condo is fitted with new 2” blinds.

Because we built our own duplex community we were able to add small features that we enjoy ourselves. Each of the units — whether one or two bedroom — has a small rear deck with access to the pebble walkways that span the back of the property. The grounds of Huntsfield Greene are beautifully landscaped with shade trees, green lawns, and azaleas.

Each unit also has a wood burning fireplace in the living room — as you know, a most unusual feature for most duplexes. #26D is all electric, as opposed to the gas heat used by the two bedroom flats. This change freed up room in the rear so the back deck is larger than most of the other Huntsfield units. Residents in the townhouses have only two utility bills, electricity and water, as opposed to the three bills to be paid by residents of the flats.

The fully equipped kitchen includes laundry closets with washer/dryer connections.
