A first-floor unit, 67 Riverbend was purchased in 2011. While previous properties at Riverbend we had purchased had been located more along the perimeter of the grounds and offered limited access to the ample greenspace on the campus of Riverbend, the patio of 67 faces a nicely landscaped courtyard in the center of Riverbend, with large oaks and with areas of grass and river rock. It is a shady retreat for cooking out or for just sitting outside to enjoy the surroundings. I liked this location so much that we later purchased a two bedroom condo, #69, which connects to the same courtyard.

The unit has been fully updated with granite countertops and stainless appliances in the kitchen; kitchen and entry hall have parquet wood flooring. With the exception of the bedroom, which is carpeted, the rest of the space including the bath is floored with a synthetic plank that looks and feels like wood flooring.

This unit is the smallest floor plan of our Riverbend units — about 814 square feet, one bedroom and one bathroom. The dining area is an area just off the kitchen and living room, not a separate room. This is one of the few early “phase 1” Riverbend units with w/d connections — we added those in a large closet across from the front door. A covered patio at the rear of the condo overlooks the landscaped courtyard, a greenspace in the center of Riverbend.

Riverbend is a large gated community, and #67 is located closer to the center and inner ring of the community near the two pools, clubhouse, and mail box center. Its location is also reasonably close to the entrance, but away from the main roads within Riverbend that have more traffic.

Another plus is the general location in Greenville — Riverbend is a large gated community nestled within a curve of the Reedy River, just a few yards from the Prisma Health Swamp Rabbit Trail, an access point for miles of cycling and running opportunities, and less than a mile from the Caine Halter Family YMCA. The Prisma Health Life Center is two miles away.

On the Pleasantburg side just a few blocks to the east are numerous restaurant options; Pita House (Middle Eastern), Frodos’ Pizza “The Original”, and Grateful Brew (a coffee shop) are around a mile away. Travel two miles to the India Palace (Indian) and Red Bowl (Asian) restaurants. Greenville Technical CollegeThe Fresh Market, (a gourmet supermarket), and Publix Super Market at McAlister Square anchor that end of South Pleasantburg as well.

On the Augusta Road side you’ll find an array of small niche shops that cater to a variety of needs, not to mention a Southern-style restaurant, Chicken Salad ChickThe Bakery off AugustaThe Blockhouse RestaurantDavani’s, and Augusta Grill — all within about 1 to 1.5 miles from #183 Riverbend.
